Natural menopause happens gradually in every woman’s life. Menopause is confirmation to the end of a woman's menstrual cycles and fertility. The Menopause Blood Test is a comprehensive panel of tests that investigates whether you have started menopause. Menopause is a biological process wherein a woman’s body produces less estrogen and progesterone and the ovaries stop producing eggs. The test measures the hormones estradiol (E2), follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), and luteinizing hormone (LH), all of which exert its effects on the ovaries. It also measures thyroid hormone levels which also play a role in the regulation of menstrual cycles. During menopause, the thyroid becomes less able to produce the same amount of T4 and T3. Therefore, the testing of the same along with thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) is required to investigate whether it’s menopause or thyroid disease.
