Luteinizing hormone (LH), known as gonadotropin, is a vital hormone, that affects the sex organs in both men and women. LH is responsible for many reproductive health issues and plays a role in puberty, menstruation, and fertility. Follicle-Stimulating Hormone (FSH) on the other hand works closely with LH to control sexual functions. It is related to reproduction and the development of eggs in women and sperm in men.

The FSH and LH test is a blood test that measures follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH), two sex hormones that are essential for reproduction. These two hormones are secreted by the anterior pituitary gland and affect the ovaries and testes. The test is used to evaluate infertility issues in both sexes initially. It also helps determine the health of a person's reproductive organs, specifically the testicles and ovaries. This test also evaluates the pituitary function in the body.
