DGI signs and symptoms include fever, multiple skin cuts, tender swelling of joints (gonococcal arthritis), infection of the inner lining of the heart, and inflammation of the membrane that covers the brain and spinal cord (meningitis). The test detects Neisseria Gonorrhoeae. Both males and females can take this test.
