First of all, an initial testing is done to screen for treponemal antibodies that cause a Syphilis infection.  The RPR (rapid plasma reagin) test will be performed if these antibodies are discovered to confirm the patient's diagnosis. If the RPR Screen is reactive, then the RPR Titer will be performed. However, if the RPR Screen is non-reactive, then Treponema Pallidum Antibody, Particle Agglutination will be performed.
